Hello!

I'm so glad you've found your way here. I'll be exploring ideas about living a meaningful life, in all its forms. I hope you'll find something here to reflect on, something to try, or perhaps just something to smile at. Maybe you'll discover something that helps you along your own journey, too.
What do I mean by spirituality?
Now, I'm not going to turn all religious on you, although gems of wisdom from various faith traditions may pop up from time to time. What interests me is spirituality in everyday life. What is it that gives our lives meaning? What connects us to one another? How we might live in ways that reflect what matters to us?
My background in occupational therapy has influenced how I think about all this. Occupational therapists recognise that the things we do, the people around us and the environments we spend time in can all affect our sense of identity, purpose and wellbeing. Sometimes meaning is found in the big questions but for the most part it's part and parcel of everyday life. We don't have to belong to a particular religion, or even believe in God, to explore what makes life meaningful.
Of course, what this looks like will be different for each of us. I'm interested in exploring possibilities, rather than prescribing a particular way of living.
What can you expect to find here?
There'll be glimpses of my own life: my thoughts, what I've made and read, where I've been and what I've been up to. I'll be asking questions, exploring ideas and looking at what psychology, spirituality, philosophy and occupational therapy might have to offer. I'll share things I've noticed about the world around me, along with resources I've found useful and experiments we might try for ourselves.
I'm particularly interested in putting what I learn to the test in everyday life. I'm not claiming to have all the answers, and I suspect I'll change my mind about a few things along the way. That's part of the fun.
And there's an exciting project up my sleeve, too. More about that as it unfolds.
For now, this is just a little hello. If you'd like to know more about me and what makes me tick, pop over to my About Me page.
One last thing. The picture at the top shows an installation at Shoebury East Beach in Essex, not too far from my childhood home in Southend-on-Sea. I've always wondered whether it's a parabolic structure designed to reflect sound, and whether it has a twin on the Kent coastline opposite. If you happen to know, do tell me!
